Wow what a blast of a night! Our mid-summer vinyl edition vol.17 brought us an electric musical treat, a killer combination of djs from Holland and the Dominican Republic; our very own London based top Dj and soul of ‘I like it like that’ Dj Erick the Saint and the talents of Dj Massimoo straight from Russia (originally from Holland). A hot night of fiery salsa rhythms that kept us glued to the dance floor.
The shows from the talented Emanuela Iafrate & Kathleen Diane Gosling was a pure powerhouse and the awesome 'Marco Ferrigno Bad Boyz UK team' choreographed by Edward L. Albino Torres really showed us pure style & flavour! To all salsar@s who came: you rocked the night! YOU ARE THE BEST and you are really the soul of the night!
DJ Massimoo, St.Petesburg, Russia (originally from Holland)
Dj Massimoo started his DJ career with electronic music in 1996 but soon expanded his passion for music into salsa and latin rhythms becoming an avid vinyl collector. Over 20 years later and with a large quality record collection to show for he moved on to hosting his own successful vinyl event ‘Salsability’ in Rotterdam, Amsterdam as well as dj-ing in many established festivals and parties across Europe. Now back in his homeland Russia he continues to spread his passion for salsa by dj-ing in major events there and across Europe while ever-expanding his record collection and deepening his experience and knowledge in the vast world of latin music.
Dj Erick the Saint, London, UK/Dominican Republic
Erick Lopez known as DJ Erick The Saint, has established himself as one of the top Salsa DJs in the UK. Brought up in the Dominican Republic he was enthused from an early age into Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and other latin music styles, a passion he brought with him when he crossed the Atlantic.
He started collecting music since his teens and DJ-ed in house parties before moving to bars and larger events in the Dominican Republic. Since moving to the UK in 2001, he immediately took on the London Salsa scene, Dj-ing in popular Latin venues and becoming a favourite resident DJ; a privilege he is honoured to continue today for many UK events (Salsa on Sundays, El Grande, Salsateca, Ola Latina).
Erick has over 15 years Dj-ing under his belt, travelling around the UK and Europe to play in well-established venues and festivals as well as close to two decades of collecting music.
In the last 4 years he has also moved on to hosting his own salsa and latin urban nights. He is the soul and creator of ‘I like it like that, salsa dura on vinyl’ as well as the host of popular regular urban latin nights together with his brother, under ‘Lopez Brothers Entertainment’.
